Ankle Injury, Swelling In Tissue, Bruised, No Fractures. Done CT Scan. Will It Take Too Long To Heal?

I slipped and hit the inside of my left ankle hard into the corner of our aluminum boat. The ankle instantly became extremely swollen and bruised. I ice packed it straight away. After limping around on it after three days I had an xray done. It stated there was tissue swelling but no breaks or fractures. 2 weeks and 2 days later it was still swollen, tender to touch and bruised and whenever I walk on it it begins to swell even more so went back to dr's and was sent for CT scan which again showed no fractures or breaks. Its now been 2 1/2 weeks and there is still bruising and swelling and ankle continues to swell more when I walk on it. I keep it up when i'm at work as my job is in a call centre so I'm sitting most of the time. Just wondering where I go from here? Do I need to do anything further or just give it time to heal???
