I am a 23 year white male - ADHD - temporal and parietal lobe epilipsy. i was prescribed lamictin but have stopped taking it.
I have recently (1-1.5 months) been experiencing serious emotional turbulence - one minute i want o cry the next i want to rip someones head off for no good reason and within a minute i can be stable again.
What would you recommend as the best course of action for a short term solution - I have exteremely crutial commitments in the next month and i am worried that i wont have the mental strength to completye these.
My mother gave me eglonyl today to help stabalise me and it has worked well. Can you take this as a male? Will i start producing milk - how long can i take it while i scedule an app with mt neurologist?
Thanks for the query. Medication is a tool, not a cure for adult ADHD. It depends on trust you build with your doctor whether he will agree with you to prescribe the stimulent medicine. You have some options like- Medium acting: methylphenidate sustained release (Metadate CD, Metadate ER, Methylin ER, Ritalin LA, Ritalin SR). Some other treatments that address emotional and behavioral issues and teach you new coping skills may help. Try to exercise on most days. Pick something enjoyable, so you’ll stick with it. Get out into nature. Better sleep, Eating right can help you regulate adult ADHD symptoms. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation are effective treatment for adult ADHD.
Hope i helped you.
