Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Travacalm And Gastrostop Along With Probiotics Advisable For Diarrhea?
Hi, I have fructose malabsorption and currently in Indonesia (Gili T and heading back to Bali). I’m having really bad fructose poos constantly coming out of me. I’m not digesting anything. Even plain bland foods like hot chips. I’ve only drank bottled water, wash my hands frequently and become the sanitiser Queen. It’s not quite the runs. It’s yellow and not solid, water not completely runny. I’ve taken gastrostop just in case and thought that can’t hurt. Is there anything you think I should do?! I’m taking natures way probiotic 30 billion. I’m also about to take the speed boat back to Bali, can I take travacalm with the gastrostop? And is my probiotics okay in that mix? I’m here another 5 days!! Thanks in advance!!
* As per my surgical experience, the choice of Travacalm is best for such incidence when traveling.
* A single dose of Gastrostop may be beneficial, while recurrent doses may hamper the side effect profile with excess fluid absorption from gut, cramps and so forth.
* If possible and available in desk kit of medicines, the addition of antibiotic as metronidazole will help greatly to sooth the intestine best way.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
