Are Heart Murmurs In Infants Indicative Of A Congenital Heart Defect? If So, What Are Our Options?

my grandson is 2.5 moths old and was born with a slight heart murmur we were told it would heal itsself but he still has it and the new pediatrician says he will need to see a heart specialist he has been having feeding problems but is still gaining weight could this be chv and if so what are our options?

Hi,
Thanks and welcome to HCM.
Innocent heart murmurs present from birth in some babies usually disappear by 3-4 weeks.
If they persist beyond that time more or less it is organic and the baby be evaluated by a cardiologist thoroughly including 2D ECHO.
