Are The Solid Masses In Breasts An Cause Of Concern?

Good Afternoon. I had Implanon inserted May of 2012. Within the last six months, doctors have found 5 solid masses in my breasts. I have yet to get the biopsy done. I am trying to remove my Birth control but every doctor I see tells me its to deep to be removed. I just lost my insurance and will not be reinstated until January. I am willing to pay out of pocket but I don t know what to do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Solid masses in the breast could be due to fibroadenoma, fibrocystic disease, breast cancer.
I would suggest to consult the general surgeon and undergo USG scan guided FNAC to confirm the cause.
Treatment will depend on the result of the FNAC.
Fibroadenoma can be resolved by birth control pill and selective serotonin receptor agonist.
If report will tell about fibroadenoma then no need to remove.
Surgical excision of deep mass cause more complication dn has tendency to recurrence.
Cancer can be treated by chemotherapy and surgery.
Take healthy diet and do regular exercise.
Hope this may help you
