Back Pain, Internal Bruised And Burning Sensation. Family History Of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma

I have back pain in my middle lower back. It appears it may also be a bit bruised. I have had no injuries, but am concerned because it is a dull burning bruised internal sensation and has been there a couple of weeks. My father recently died of non Hodgkin s lymphoma diagnosed too late & my grandmother of leukemia . I am wondering if there might be a genetic connection.

Thanks for the query. NHL could have genetic connection if your close relative had the NHL then it definitely increase the risk. Although it can happen at all ages but its more common in old age. I would suggest to get Xrays of the spine to rule out spinal cause. Also have regular health check up. Thanks.

The pain in your lower and middle back is likely to be due to age related degenerative changes of the spine. It is not likely to be due to a genetic condition or a lymphoma. An MRI scan will help you in the exact diagnosis.
