Hello, thanks for using HCM.
Alcohol has severe effects on the body and particularly the nervous system. Such effects are even more severe depending on the speed of absorption of the alcohol into the tissues. Heavy drinking at a time and especially on an empty stomach favors rapid absorption while consumption of a heavy meal turns to slow down the consumption.
Alcohol diffuses into almost if not all tissues of the body thus it has the potential of having a multi-system which could be even severe if a substantial amount of alcohol is taken and if the absorption was rapid. Organs that turn to be affected most include the brain (including the cerebrum,
cerebellum and
hypothalamus) and the
liver. Effects on the brain include uncoordinated contractions of muscles of the body,
fatigue and poor balance control. On the liver, alcohol alters the liver functioning there by slowing or retarding metabolic processes like
glucose production. Another effect of alcohol is the suppression of ADH hormone leading to frequent and excessive urination and consequently
dehydration and
electrolyte imbalance.
All these effects sum up to give the characteristic hang-over picture which could be severe depending on the amount and degree absorption of the alcohol and will require a corresponding time in order for the metabolic disturbances to be re-establish.
What you need to do is to increase your fluid intake obviously not alcohol and increase food intake as well as take some vitamine b complex.
Best regards and hope this helps.
