Bloating, Constipation, Blood In Stool. Taken Laxative For Constipation. Need For Worry?

Hi, I'm a 17-year-old female who has had mild bloating and constipation for the past two days and took a laxative today but found blood in the stool. I have used the toilet at least 6 times over the past 3 to 4 hours. The blood is bright red and looks mixed in with the (very, very loose) stool - does not seem to be coming from deep inside the GI tract or from around the anus, as there is no blood when I wipe. The laxative recommended dose was 1-3 tablets and I took 3. Please tell me if I should be worried - I am traveling very soon and an unnecessary visit to the doctor is a hassle right now. Thank you!

Hello,

Fresh blood following defecation is most like from the lower GI tract(rectum and anus).

Bleeding may be due to hard stools(Constipation).
Stop using laxative now.
Look out for any fresh bleeding.

If bleeding continues then consult a doctor.
