Blood In Stool, Sudden Urge For Bowel Movements. Why?

I have had been experiencing blood in my stools lately. This started about two months ago and occurs about twice a week. My stools are not painful, but the sensation that I have when I need to go to the restroom is extremely sudden, and I have to drop everything and go to the restroom as soon as possible. Sometimes it's a small amount of blood on the toilet paper, but others there is a LOT of blood in the toilet and on the paper. I am a twentyone-year-old female with no prior medical history. I started taking fiber capsules about a month ago, thinking that the blood would stop, but it hasn't.

Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).

I think you are suffering from hemorrhoids. What all you have to do get a sigmoidoscopy examination to confirm that.

Meanwhile continue with high fibres diet, take lots of fluids, keep your stool soft by taking some laxative.

I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. Remain in touch and get-well soon.
