Breathing Difficulty, Knee Pain, Difficulty Walking After Chemotherapy. What Went Wrong?

My wife, 30 years old, had completed her chemo for hodgkin lymphoma (stage 1, A grade) with ABVD. After chemo she showed bleomycine induced lung toxicity (ground glass infiltrate for both lungs, medium ). having breathing difficulty and now on Predmet 16 mg(twice daily) for last 10 days. As she showed betterment in her breathing, from yesterday onwards Doc cut down the predmet dose to 8 mg (twice daily). Today she complain about knee joint pain and not able to walk. What could went wrong?. Can i give any type of pain killer?
