Broke Tibia And Fibula Bone. Done Surgery, Have Titanium Rod And Screws. Have Pain, Itchiness

I broke my tibia and fibula bone last year around Thanksgiving. I had surgery and had a titanium rod and a couple of screws in my leg. I am still walking with a slight limp and still some pain in my leg. I still can't run or put all my weight on the once injured leg. Also sometimes around my calf area is very itchy. I never broken a bone before this incident. I didn't know I was going to have a rod in my leg. The hospital didn't inform me what the surgery was exactly for. Will my leg ever be back to normal?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Titanium rod has placed in your bone to maintain proper alinement of broken bone. You need to get X-ray of lower limb to see weather fracture has healed in a correct position. If the fracture site healed in a improper position pain can persists, which can be correctable. If fracture site united properly then pain could be due to rod, in that case rod needs to be removed by confirming fracture union. consult your orthopedic surgeon for further examination and X-ray report.

Hope this helps you.

Regards
