Bruised Bump On The Shin. Had An Injury. Itchy Skin On The Leg. Need An X-ray?

Hi, I fell a couple of months ago & hit my shin on the edge of a concrete step. I had a bump, bruising, & it is still a little tender to the touch. But about 3 weeks ago, the same shin started to itch & now seems to be in a pattern of intense itching. there is no longer any bruising, but the itching is driving me crazy. should I have my leg xrayed?

Hi,

You need not worry about the itching at the site of bump, as it is in the healing process, when new tissues ,skin and underlying connective tissue appear you feel itchy that is the normal phenomenon.

Control yourself. You can have atarax if unable to control itching.

However if unbearable pain and redness appears you need to consult dermatologist/general surgeon

Hope this will help you
