Bruises On Legs, Pinhead Blood Spots On Body After Taking Tamoxifen For 18 Months. History Of Treated For Breast Cancer Lump. Serious?
Been taking Tamoxifen for eighteen months and started getting unexplained bruises on my legs and pin head blood spots on my upper body, should I be worried ? I'm post menopausal. Two years ago I had FEC chemotherapy, radiation therapy and Herseptin every three weeks for a year. My breast cancer lump was Er-positive and Her2- positive.
Tamoxifen can lead to unusual bruising and petechiae especially on the lower extremities. It is a hormone replacement therapy which is useful in the treatment of breast cancer but can also lead to serious bleeding conditions. I suggest you discuss with your doctor about continuation of therapy, as he/she has to weigh if the benefits, outweigh the risk that may subsequently emerge.
Hope this helps
