Can Clonazepam Cause A False Negative Pregnancy Test?
Hi! I was wondering if Clonazepam can cause a false negative pregnancy test? I have been having nausea, a fluttering feeling in my uterus, I had brown spotting a few days ago. I am tired and very emotional. I just feel as if there is something going on inside my body and I have missed my period. So far, I ve taken 2 home urine tests and both have come back negative.
No....Clonazepam can cause a false negative pregnancy test. The missed period, suspected (implantation) brown bleed, nausea, mood swings point towards a pregnancy. Urine pregnancy tests detect Beta HCG which is secreted only during pregnancy and it becomes positive only on the first day of missed period. If you have done it earlier than that, it needs to be repeated. To confirm it I usually go for serum levels of HCG by a blood test because it usually clears the diagnostic dilemma. Please visit a gynecologist, who would procure an ultrasound of yours.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

No, clonazepam do not cause false pregnancy test. Probably you are feeling the symptoms you have, as a result of anxiety. UPT becomes positive only on the first day of the missed period. If you are doing it early, please repeat accordingly.
