Can I Take Cipro, After Suffering From Gastroenteritis And Diarrhea, For Klebsiella Pneumoniae Shown In Urine Culture?

i recently had horrible gastroenteritis, vomiting and diarrhea for two days, ended up in the ER for iv fluids and replacement of my potassium, they did a urine culture and it showed klebsiella pneumoniae and i was started on cipro...my question is i have read that healthy people do not get this type of infection, is that correct? i do have hashimotos which is autoimmune so i guess i could be more able to get an infection like this? i have never had an infection like this before...there was actually blood in my urine according to the urinalysis.

you do seem to have a uti
and i would say that the likelihood of ciproflaxacin
being effective is high
if it is being given as per culture report
