Can Telminorm BXL Be Taken Instead Of Losar Tablets For Hypertension While Having Fluctuating BP And Gastric Problem?

Hello doctor. This is Udayan from India. I have been taking Losar-50 tablets (1 a day) for almost three years to control hypertension. My doctor has now prescribed Telminorm BXL 40/50. My BP fluctuates and at night sometimes shoots up. I also have gastric problems. Please advise.

hi,
you did not mention the reason why it was changed, was it because you still had high BP or did you develop side effect for losar?
Anyway, nocturnal shoot up of blood pressure indicates that the dosing is inadequate. it is ideal to use an evening beta blocker for limiting nocturnal shoot up instead of taking a combination of tablets in the morning itself.
In your case you can use telmiorm 40 in the morning and metoprolol 50 in the evening for better nocturnal control, rather than using them in combination.
hope i am clear.
