Can A Broken Toe Be Treated After 3 Weeks Of Injury?
About 3 weeks ago a 16 oz. hammer fell from my workbench onto the big toe of my bare foot ( yes painful ). Well I treated it for awhile with ice packs , the black & blue cleared up but the swelling has not gone done & I still cannot bend it. Yea I know I should have gone to the doctors, hind sight is a wonderful thing. My question is this, if my toe is broken which it probably is, can it still be treated? It is very painful & uncomfortable to walk on.
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you have got injury to your great toe . Its bruise has resolved but you are in doubt that it has fractured. Fracture can be ruled out by x ray of it.Treatment of it whether it got fractured or not is similar except fracture take longer time in healing. Treatment is rest to part and analgesic such as diclofenac for pain relief. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
