Hi,

Monocef O (Cefpodoxime) is an antibiotic commonly prescribed to treat various infections caused by susceptible bacteria such as respiratory tract infection, cystitis, etc. It is not effective in the treatment of cold (viral infection). Both Monocef O 100 mg syrup and Monocef O 100 mg tablet contain the same antibiotic Cefpodoxime hence Monocef O 100 mg DT (dispersible tablet) can be given in the dose of 5 mg/kg/dose every 12 hours for 5 to 10 days in place of Monocef O syrup.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

Both the syrup and tablets contains same active ingredients. If he can swallow, you can safely give tablet as well. Keep in mind that in children the dose is purely based on weight.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
