General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi. First of all remember the surgery is done only if the medical treatment of minimum of 3 weeks fails to give results. SO do not worry so early.
Secondly, one must know the extent of adenoid or any other problem causing the snoring by an MRI of the nose and pharynx.
Thirdly , I would advise such patients 3 weeks course of an antibiotic , decongestant syrup, and nasal drops in reducing doses, anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen, wait and watch. Oral steroids may be added if the swelling is severe.
Surgery is done only if the medical management fails to give response.
