Can Childhood Bowel Movement Result In Sludge Associated Gall Bladder At Later Point Of Life?

doctor suspected gallstones, went thro two tests one mri, and one other before mri. both tests were clear but he still went endoscopy but no stones but sludge in the gall bladder. and now doc recommended gall bladder removal. doc also mentioned prancreatis at time admitting him to hospital. he is 16 yrs old. he has bowel movement since he was baby. is this related to gall bladder issues. they didnt find no blockage when endoscopy. thank you but i guess i cant an answer cuz i cant pay you. thanks anyway.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to HCM.

Yes prolonged disturbed bowel movements can cause gall bladder problems... as about 70-80% of the gall bladder secreations are recycled back by the large bowel.

If thd gall bladder sludge is causing pancreatitis... then better to get the gall bladder removed.
