Can Head Injury Cause Fever In Child?

My 2 year old hit his head on a metal grocery cart a few days ago when a sibling gave him a push. He cried immediately & started developing a large bump. I woke him that night a couple of times & he seemed fine, just sleepy of course. The bump is receding now & a bruise has developed. His pupils seem fine. But he has been a bit more irritable & aggressive than usual. Then today he has a fever & lethargy off & on. Could the fever be related to the head injury?
