Can Hitting Hard After A Fall Cause Hurting And Pulsating Feeling The Next Day?
Hello, My name is Tristan. Yesterday I had a sports activity (ice hockey) where I was completely steamrolled. I was going at top speed, and got hit and stopped instantly and fell straight backwards. After the fall, my neck hurt insanely bad. The pain radiated from my neck and felt like my eyes were hurting too. Later in the game, the pain subsided (possibly from adrenaline) but this morning when I woke up, my heart was pounding (it usually does) and every time it would beat, the back of my neck hurt as well. It s a pulsating feeling. I m 16, Male

Hi there.
Of course an injury of such nature can cause such symptoms the next day , or even a few days after that.
Firstly I would suggest that you get an Xray of the neck done aand get it evaluated.
One can never be too careful.
Kindly wear a soft cervical collar for atleast a week as complete healing of soft tissue injury and complete rest can only be attained by this.
Abstain from all sorts of strenuous activities including sports.
Apply ice packs to the injured area 3 to 4 times daily.
Take an analgesic like diclofenac .
Apply diclofenac gel locally and gently over your neck.....do not massage.
Rest of the treatment will depend upon what your Xray has to say.
