Can Hormonal Imbalance Cause Pain In The Hands And Wrists?
I am 56 yrs.old and appox. 6 weeks ago my hands and wrists have become so very painful/I have been tested for RH,have gone in with my husband to his specialist. He said for the length of time in has built up,the ortho specialist said that this can be caused by homone inbalance. or thyroid issues.I take meds. for both
Hormonal imbalances including thyroid dysfunction can lead to a condition called carpel tunnel syndrome (CTS) and can cause wrist pain. As a first line of management you can take analgesics like Acetaminophen or Diclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopedics and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
