Can I Take Probiotics To Stop Diarrhea Due To Antibiotics?

I broke my leg 6 months ago & about 3 weeks ago got a staph infection, probably caused by the metal plates & screws used to put the bone back together. I was put on Cefazolin injections or drips every 8 hours & the plates were removed surgically. After 20 days of 3x's daily injections, i developed nausea, dizziness, confusion & extreme tiredness & itchiness that kept me awake. Today I was put on Dicloxacillin 500mg every 6 hours & wanted to check to find out all that I could & whether or not I should take some probiotics to stop the diarrhea? PLEASE help me with any information that may help. They said that I may need to be on this medication for 4-6 weeks! I'm 64 yrs. old & weigh 80 kg.

Yes, you can take probiotics to stop antibiotics associated diarrhoea.

Probiotics like tab.sporlac 2 tab twice a day after food.
