Can Medicine Be Consumed Directly Without Shell?

Hello doctor, I am a breast feeding mom to 5 mnts girl baby and I feel my lactation level is decreased n my baby needs more. As per doc I took lactore tablet. But now I see it has gelatin shell. Can I consume medicine directly without shell. Being a strict vegetarian, I would not like to consume animal product. Or could u please suggest any other way for me. Thank you in advance

Hi,

Consuming lactare capsules without the gelatin shell will affect the absorption and reduce the efficacy of the drug. Hence, I would not suggest you to take the drug without the shell. You may have to increase garlic, fenugreek and green leafy vegetables in your diet. Massage the breasts for a while before feeding every time. This is supposed to increase the milk flow. Feed your baby well, at least once every 2 hours. The more you feed more will be the milk produced.
