Can Muscle Twitches In The Arm Correlate With An ST Depression?
I have had fatigue and a feeling of poor balance at times. Around the same titime I started seeing muscles in my right bicep/tricep fasciculate/spasm.
During this time I had a number of tests with a nuerologist and my primary care doctor. All finding nothing wrong, with exception to an ST Depression. Can muscle twitches in my right arm correlate with an ST Depression?
My doctor said I am ok to exercise, but I have concerns from what I have read. I do have an appointment with a cardiologist, but wonder if I should be jogging in light of the ekg results. I feel back to normal...
Generally, ST segment depression in ECG signifies the onset of heart disease. But, there are other causes for ST segment depression, the commonest being HYPOKALEMIA (low potassium levels in blood). I suspect Hypokalemia in your case as the cause of ST segment depression as well as muscle fasciculations, which occur due to low potassium levels.
Estimation of serum Electrolytes will confirm the presence of Hypokalemia and can be treated accordingly.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
