Can Overdoes Of Thyroid Pills Cause Diarrhea?

My mother, 68 years old and 49 kgs. had hysterectomy earlier this year. In January, her Thyroid levels were found low and she was advised to continue taking one tablet of Thyrofit 50 mg daily for the rest of her life. During the last 2-3 months, she has been having diarrhea, which is sometimes so severe that she has to relieve herself right after every meal. I am wondering if this could be due to overdosage of the Thyroid medicine?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

Diarrhoea may be seen in hyperthyroidism but chances are very low that it is due to thyroid medicine. Still you should check your T3, T4 and TSH level once. Then if needed adjust the dosage accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic.
Wish you very good health.
