Can Painful Urination And Itching In Vagina Denote Yeast Infection Or Urinary Tract Infection?

For the last few days my gut has been churning and moving continuously. Monday i could not eat much at all due to pain in that area. I also had itching in my vagina area and some pain while urinating. Now, my urine has a fishy odor as well. I am uncomfortable and awakened at 3 am, unable to get any more sleep due to these symptoms. What type of infection might I have? Originally, I thought yeast infection but then I thought maybe UTI. Whatever it is, I need a diagnosis and medicine! Thank you.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have itching in vaginal area and burning urination with fishy odour of urine .Most likely this is due to UTI however fungal infection has to be ruled out by laboratory tests.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.and later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
