My son has been diagnosed with adult on set epilepsy -he had a seizure at our house. He is not working now and is taking some anti seizure medication. He also takes a lot of pain medications for his back. I am wondering if the pain medication can cause the seizures he also continues to drink beer also.
Well there are many causes for epilepsy, since I don't know what tests have been performed it's hard to say what's the cause. Alcohol abuse is known to carry the possibility of seizures. Painkillers, well it depends which ones, if we are talking the most usual ones like non steroidal anti-inflammatories (ibuprofene, naproxene, meloxicam, diclofenac, etodolac etc), then no, they are not known to cause seizures.
