Can Penicillin Trigger Symptoms Of IBS?

Hi, I have been suffering bouts of the following symptoms since taking penicillian for about 3 weeks back in July - constipation, diahorrea - so bad it is just foul smelling water, increased wind, stomach aches, stomach rumblings and a few days ago the symptons were so bad I had terrible back ache, weary legs and just felt so ill. Could this be IBS and if so could it have been triggered by the pencillian?

Read your query and understood your health concern.
Based on facts of you query, you seem to suffer from-
AAD -Antibiotic Associated Diarrhea- from penicillin induced diarrhea from altered bacterial flora / or could be from Claustridia Difficile diarrhea from prolonged penicillin use.
Thus penicillin can trigger IBS like complaints.
