Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a male, 56 years of age, and have been taking 10mg Ramipril each day for a couple of years to control hypertension. During this time my voice has changed from being deep and resonant and now I suffer from intermittent loss of voice during sentences and have to consciously put an effort into speaking. I do not smoke or drink. Is it likely that Ramipril is causing this condition?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given here I could say that this is the ACE inhibitor drug and this could exert the side effect on respiratory system but it is just possible that this could affect the vocal cord too, better to stop this drug if the voice comes to the normal then this would clear the doubt, have a nice day.
