Can Thyroid Medication (levothyroxine) Cause Severe Rash All Over The Body In 91 Year Old Female?

my mom has a severe rash all over her body, it started 4 months or so ago and has gotten worse. she has been treated with numerous creams, prednisone, changes in soap, detergent and the like. taking warm baths not hot. biopsied, cannot find the cause. could this be from her thyroid medication (levothyroxine) which she has only been taking for a little over 2 years. can she stop taking it without other effects. she is 91 yrs young.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Your 91 year young mother had itching all over the body. Some people at such age can have idiopathic itching. But it is due to the allergy only. Some times there could be infection as well.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms levocitrizine, montelekast, grisofulvin, and triamcinolone 40mg every fortnight.
Ask her to take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods to have good health, blood, and resistance against such infections and allergies.
