Child Fall Sick, Fever, Leg Pain, Throat Infection And Feels Lump On Tonsils. Suggest?
Good morning Doctor, I am Seema From Chandigarh India.My son is 5 years old. I am very conscious about his health as i am working woman.Since last few years as he started going school,he use to fall ill..sometimes fever,sometimes legs pain,throat infection and he feels a big lumps on tonsils on his right side.Please tel me what to do..Is Novamox syrup is best for his throat infection?

Hi, it appears to be the recurent tonsillitis,it is to be treated completely.
I to my patient with such infection prescribes erythrocin 250 mg B.D. for 7 days, and decongestants . if still it is continuing he may need to have culture and sensitivity and treatment accordingly. So i advise to consult a pediatritian for diagnosis and treatment. Thank you.

I understand your concern
It is normal for children to have repeated infections till age 5 to 6 as they are exposed to various types of infections.at school,from friends,during playing etc.
No need to worry as they develop immunity to all this slowly.
lump you are mentioning are lymph nodes which gets enlarged after any infection viral or bacterial.
I recommend you not to give any self medication.
Get your child examined by pediatrician .
In the meantime give him plenty of fluids and soft bland diet.
You can give paracetamol in prescribed dosage for pain relief.
