Child Has Dry, Yellow, Flaky Substance In Belly Button. What Is It?
I have a thirteen year old, and she recently complained that she doesn t have any belly button lint, it s just dried yellow flaky stuff. neither of us have any idea what it is, and are worried about an infection. It falls out most of the time, occaisonally it doesn t and she picks it out with tweezers. Any idea of what it is?

Thanks for your query. Your daughter has noticed a dry ,yellow,flaky substance in her belly button.This could be a dried sebaceous material which is secreted by sebaceous glands in belly button.She has to clean it everyday while taking a bath as there are chances of getting the same infected.
