Child Has Sore Nostril, Swollen Upper Lip, Fever, Headache, Coughing, Sneezing. Taking Antihistamine And Ibuprofen
My daughter has had a sore right nostril for about a week. Last night her upper lip became swollen and she felt generally unwell she had a raised temperature though not too high and she had a headache, aches down her sides and had been coughing and sneezing. No problems breathing and not wheezing I gave her Iburofen and antihistamine as I thought she may be having a mild allergic reaction . I kept checking on her and she slept soundly. This morning the swelling had spread to her right side of her face and up to her eye, lip still swollen but no other symptoms other than feeling a little under the weather. Took her to docs he said not sure so carry on with antihistamine and ibuprofen as needed for next 48 hrs. Swelling still the same... any ideas. she is 8yrs old and slap cheek virus is present at school
Hi, From history it suggests that she is suffering from acute bacterial infection on lip spreading on surrounding part. Do not delay and consult your doctor as this is a danger area from where infection may spread in the brain leading to serious complication. Your doctor will go for higher antibiotic medicine course to prevent spreading infection more and to control infection. Ok and take care.
