Child Having Insect Bite On Thigh. No Other Symptoms. Should I Be Concerned?

My 5 year old son came home from pre-school today with an insect bite on his thigh. It almost looks like a faint bruise in color. As far as I can tell, there is only one puncture site. It is about the size of a nickel and I can feel a hard lump when I press on it. He is not vomiting or running a fever . He isn t lethargic. Should I be concerned?

Hi,
You need not be unduly concerned,
It is very likely that this is a small insect bite, with a secondary local reaction.
If there are any symptoms or worsening local pain swelling fever etc. then you need to see a doctor,
Warm regards
