Child Passing Motion After Every Meal. Motions Watery. How To Control?

Hello Dr. My 10 month old daughter has recently started to poop after every meal. Since this afternoon, her motions are more watery. She was born in Amsterdam since we live here but now in India for family visit. It s been 3 weeks since we had been here and I found this problem only this week. She recently ate a little bit of chapatti. Please advice.

Hello there.
This is a normal phenomenon called gatrocolic reflex. Intake of food, stimulates the gut movement and causes passage of stool. Its possible your child, during these 3 weeks, has been exposed to new and different food. If there is no diarrhoea or foul smell or blood in stool or weight loss, there is probably no cause for worry.Your child should be introduced to all food by 1 yr of age.
Please ensure that you dont give uncooked food. Water must be filtered , boiled and cooled. Please dont give bottled/mineral water without boiling.
Hope you are reassured.
Bye
