Child Was Dizzy, Nauseous And Fatigued After Outdoor Classes. Was Dehydrated. Suggest?

I am the mother of a 12, almost 13y/o. He takes athletics in school. This am he had to run bleachers 4or 5 times, run the track 3 times forward and then once backwards. Then they run sprints. The class is 50 min. long without breaks. No water is provided,as it is for the football kids. Usually my son has a piece of fruit and glass of water in am, but was running late and didn't. I know that is unacceptable. However after class he threw up 8 times, dizzy, nausea, and very fatigued. He is 5'1 124lbs. I believe he was dehydrated, yet no concern or common sense seemed to be practiced by the coaches or school. I want to know if my concerns are justified. We live in Granbury, Tx. and it can be quite hot even in the mornings. What do you think?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
It seems the child developed heat stroke because of running in hot environment.
These are symptoms of heat pyrexia with correlation to his activity.
Take him to a cooler area, provide air, and ask him to take plenty of water and oral fluids.
Consult the pediatrician for further assessment and treatment.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
