Child With Enlarged Spleen, Low WBC. Fatigue, Weight Loss. PET Scan Showing Inflammation Of The Lymph Nodes In Spleen. What Is Happening?

My daughter is 11yr old for 3 1/2 yrs she has had bouts of enlarged spleen low WBC and HGB followed with fatigue, weight loss. And pain in upper left quad abd when she inhales. She s had 2 meg bone marrow bx, pet scan which revealed inflammation of lymph nodes in spleen. No one can tell us why she does this and what is going on???

from the description of your childs symptoms she could be suffering from a blood disorder,
these include,
- sickle cell disease
- leukemia
-lymphoma
- viral infection,malaria,schistosomiasis
-juvenile rheumatiod arthritis/hemolytic anemias
-gaucher's disease
- heart failure.
she needs to be throughly investigated i would suggest you should take her to see a pediatrician for further evaluation
