Child With High Fever And Rashes That Are Spreading All Over The Body. What Could This Be?

My child had a very high fever for 48 hours with a little vomiting. He now has a bit of a bronchial cough. He has a rash on his trunk which is not itchy, it is spreading to the back and front also his tongue has some spots on the sides. Any idea what we are dealing with. Thanks

Hi,

The symptoms you describe go for a viral infection called : roseola infantum.

Don't worry about the rash. It may last up to 48 hours and than disappears.

As for every other virus you may use only symptomatic treatment: For the temperature acetaminophen, etc.
