Child With Infection On Tongue. Looks Whitish/yellow. Fever. Suggestions?

Hi. My daughter has some sort of infection on the underside of her tongue. She's 2. It started with a sore of some sort. It looked like she has bitten it or something. It is red, swollen, very painful and looks whitish/yellow, like pus. Tonight the surface of her tongue towards the back looks white as well. She was running a fever 2 nights ago but none since. I've tried rinsing with an oral mouth sore solution I have. As best as she'll let me. But it doesn't seem to be getting better. Anything else I should do or is it time to take her to the pediatrician?

Hi
Thanks for posting your querry to HCM.
According to your description, it seems to be a sore throat or a thrush or some bacterial infection.
Rinsing does help in this situation, but not to the desired extent. Since she is also running fever, it is time to visit your paediatrician to get a clear picture.

Wishing her a good health.
