Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).
You haven't mentioned the symptoms you are suffering from. Have you undergone endoscopic examination and what was the report if yes. On what basis oesophageal spasm was diagnosed as it can be diagnosed either by barium swallow study or by manometry. Anyhow I will like to advise:
1.Avoid fatty meals
2. Don't lie down soon after meals for at least half hour
3.Take small and frequent meals, instead of full meals at a time
4. wear loose clothes
5. If you are
overweight or obese do weight reduction with dieting and exercise
6. Do not smoke if you do
Among the medications:
1. Take a prokinetic agent like itopride
2. A
proton pump inhibitor like rabeprazole
3. Tablet gasex from Himalaya Company
If not relieved with these medications I will like to advise to visit a Gastroenterologist who may advise you to undergo
endoscopy examination and who may also take biopsy to see for
Helicobacter pylori infection which a very common cause of
chronic gastritis. And if it positive then it needs to be eradicated with medicines
I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. Remain in touch and get-well soon.
