Continuous Vomiting After Meal With Heavy Mucus And Bits Of Food. Had Nissen Fundoplication, Hiatal Hernia. Normal?
I had nissen fundoplication with hiatal hernia removal one month ago.. Had to have nissen dilated. Was doing relatively well, however tonight I finally had a small meal, a small portion of sea bass and a bite of a crab cake, dinner was going well, until I started vomiting, haven't stopped for about 30 mins or so, however I feel it is all mucous and foamy with bits of food. Is this normal? Why all the mucous?
It is possible that the operation failed and there are adhesions in you stomach. This simply means that your stomach is closed and the food is not able to pass through. What you need is to meet the surgeon who did the original surgery and then tell him whats happening. Then, he will check it out and tell you if you need to be operated again. also, the bowel is sometimes overactive after surgery. Eat mild foods and cold food that dont irritate the bowel. This will help keep food down.
Hope this helps.
