Could Accidental Squatting Re-trigger Disc Herniation?

I have a hx of herniated disc L5-S1 and got 2 epidurals 3 yrs ago. Last week I ad such a bad dry cough and accidentally squat on the floor. I had a lot of pain trying to get up and since then I've been having low back pain left gluteal and leg pain going down to the calf. Does this mean I have triggered the herniated disc when I had the accident?

Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

I think you are right, you probably worsened your condition ( herniated disc disease).

This because after excessive coughing there is an significant increase in intraspinal pressure.

In my opinion, a lumbar spine MRI is necessary to get a correct understanding of your condition.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Kind regards.
