A change in facial color and texture would not be due to dieting, especially if you are eating the same foods but just less. I am concerned that that your weight gain and darker complexion might be related to a problem with your pituitary or adrenal gland. Too much cortisone hormones produced in your body could cause weight gain, which it sounds like was fairly recent and rapid, and too much of another type of related hormone from the pituitary gland can cause your skin to get darker. If that is what is going on, treating the hormone condition will eventually result in improvement in both the weight and complexion. See your doctor and have some tests to be sure this is not the problem. Hope this helps.
