Could Low Platelet Count And Presence Of Pus Cells Be The Cause For Back Pain?

hi, my brother is currently admitted in the hospital, major complain pain in the back (hips area) his urinalysis reveals some pus cells in the urine. he has high fever and always got th feeling to vomit...other laboratory test reveals low platelet he has request for KUB ultrasound

Hello,

The symptoms you are explaining may be related to kidney infection and this can cause the back pain too.

He may need to do an uroculture to check the antibiotics which can be used for this infection. In our clinic, we prefer to use Ceftriaxone injections in this case. Also using ibuprofen for fever and pain is advisable.
