Hi,

Cortisone shot belongs to the group of medications known as steroids or corticosteroids that is used in the treatment of various inflammatory conditions like asthma, allergic reactions, arthritis, blood, hormone or immune system disorders, skin conditions such as psoriasis or SLE, certain cancers and many more. Steroid injection like Cortisone may alter women's menstrual periods temporarily after getting Cortisone shot. Cortisone shot can affect menstrual cycles and make them more frequent, delayed or irregular.

It may also cause heavy or scanty bleeding during periods. Again, it may cause spotting or breakthrough bleeding between periods, vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge, irregular uterine bleeding etc as its side effects. These side effects are mild and usually go away over time without any medical treatment. But if any of these side effects persist for long or bother you then you should consult your doctor first for medical help and further assessment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
