Could Rashes Be A Symptom Of HIV?

I am very concerned about and highly feeling ill do to worrying about HIV. I have had unprotected sex with this one guy on a number of occasions, about three months ago. I did not think or worry about anything until I was with another partner. I have IBS and would not know if that is causing me a issue if I have HIV. I would like to know about the rash. I have had a small bubble filled spot on my finger that did not cause pain and was not red. I popped it, now it is healing. The rashes caused by HIV does that have to be a large rash or could one only have a one or two type of mark that could indicate HIV?

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

There is no specific rash of HIV. Diagnosing HIV based on symptoms is not reliable. The best way to rule out HIV infection is by screening blood sample for HIV antibodies. I suggest you get an ELISA for HIV 1 and 2 antibodies to confirm your HIV status.
Some patients who present with rash in Acute retroviral syndrome have a maculopapular rash which is usually on the body rather than on hands.
Some HIV positive individuals do not have any symptoms at all.
Please get yourself screened for HIV.
Thanks.

Hi
HIV is transmitted by unprotected sex with a HIV positive person and if your partner with whom you have participated in unprotected sexual activity was HIV positive then you are at risk of getting HIV.
symptoms of HIV are repeated episodes of fever, cough, respiratory infection, diarrhea, weight loss etc...and you do not have any of the above symptoms.
Infection on your finger may be due to some other cause and HIV might not be the cause.
To rule out the infection please undergo an RT-PCR ( reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction) which is almost confirmative test in early stages.
Hope I have cleared your doubt's thank you
