Could The Pain In Head Be From The Fall?

I fell in August 2010 and hit my head (left side) on cement. Upon getting up I walked up a set of stairs and sat down and looked at the tv screen to see double and feel extremely sick to my stomach. Went to emergency but left after six hours wait without being examined. Have been noticing pain in my head - could this be from that fall?

Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. Before relating your present headache to your past injury, we have carefully evaluate your symptoms. I will point out those and you will relate them
: If your headache is occurring at injury site, it could be due to that injury
: If you are feeling some swelling or bony defect at injury site along with headache, it could be the cause
: If your head injury at that time was not associated with lump at injury site, vomiting, loss of consciousness and your all symptoms subsided on its own, it means the injury was mild. There are less chances that it might be the cause of your pain.
: Holocranial ( whole scalp ) Headache, with no specific focal signs and symptoms, occurring on straining is more likely to be a non specific headache like tension headache/sinusitis and not associated with old injury.
I think it will help you. If still doubt exists, consult doctor who will evaluate you. He might advise you CT or MRI scan of head to look for old injury marks in brain, rule out any lesion. You may be advised pain killers like Diclofenac sodium to relieve pain.

Thanks. Take care.
