Could The Pain In The Stomach And In The Mid Of The Chest Be Due To Acid Reflux?
I thought I was getting shingles again the pain started like shingles but have not broke out with any rash the plain gets worse after eating. Now the pain has moved to the middle of my stomach an up to my chest could this be acid reflex, should I see a doctor this has been going on for about 2 weeks
Hi. Thank for your query. Noted the history of pain in the middle of stomach and up to chest, gets worse after eating, thought of Shingles, now wants to know whether this is due to acid reflux. Whether to see a Doctor as this is going on for 2 weeks. If this would have been Shingles, there would have been healing rash, which if absent is not indicative of Shingles. As the pain is aggravated by eating and by its location looks to be due to acidity, GERD like reflux. I would advise you the following: PPI like Omeprazole Antacid hourly Domperidone like motility regulator. Soft bland diet and small frequent feeds. Upper GI endoscopy is diagnostic as well as needed to follow up to see the progress. I hope, this will help you.
